SOUTH WITHAM PARISH COUNCIL Minutes of the Meeting held on the 3rd July 2018 at 7.30pm

Report from LCCllr Bob Adams 18-103 Cllr Adams advised that Fairer Funding is still being looked into which if implemented would benefit Lincolnshire greatly. Mr David Mitchell has been appointed LCC Community Speedwatch Co ordinator in charge of the Parish Scheme to undertake roadside speed checks. It has been suggested that local Parishes should group together and undertake each other’s speed checks, Cllr Adams agreed to co ordinate this locally.

Clerk’s and Councillors’ reports on ; 18-106 a)Village Hall, Cllr Jolley

External Lights VH light repair and jitty solar lights still outstanding, Cllr Jolley to chase fix.

Roof Cllr Jolley in receipt of one quote for repair £1950 plus vat (further work to be added) and one for scaffolding £1614 plus vat. Further quotes being sought by Cllr Jolley, to be circulated to all cllrs once received.

Other Quotes to be sought for guttering clean out, other VH exterior painting and window fix, so work may be undertaken whilst scaffolding is in place.

Road Safety, Cllr Parish asked for assistance to take down the new speed sign on the North Witham Rd so it may be recharged and moved to a new location, Cllr Jolley offered to help. Clerk to further contact LCC re. moving the existing speed sign from the High St to the North Witham Rd.

Play area inspection / repairs, Cllr Oldfield to undertake minor repairs, prior to Rospa due in August.

Armistice Day 2018, Cllr van Straubenzee advised that the church will be holding a service on Sunday 11th November to mark this occasion. On Sat 19th Nov there will also be a Remembrance Evening Concert in Castle Bytham featuring the Military Wives, details tbc.

Damaged trees bordering allotment field, North Witham Rd 18-108 LCC had contacted the clerk to advise of damaged tree branches overhanging and obstructing the carriageway. LCC agreed to clear this on behalf of SWPC, bill for work to follow.
Maintenance of Village Troughs 18-109 Complaint received re. state of Thistleton Lane trough and surrounding area, PC to deal.
Correspondence 18-110 Clerk asked to write to a Hillview Rd resident re. cutting their hedge that borders the High St as it is obstructing the pavement. Also to contact a resident re. cutting protruding brambles in Blue Cow jitty. Cllr Jolley to look into siting of new litter bin in Station Avenue / Thistleton Lane area.
