Vacancy for a Parish Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer (RFO)

South Witham Parish Council is seeking applications from an enthusiastic and well organised individual for the role of Parish Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) as the current clerk is standing down after 21 years in the post.

The contracted hours are 40 hrs per calendar month split between both roles.

Duties include:

Managing the day to day business of the Council.

Attendance and minute taking at 10 Parish Council monthly meetings held on 1st Tuesday of the month in the evening, plus any extraordinary meetings

Managing the Council’s financial accounts

Managing the Council’s cemetery records

Managing the Council’s allotment records

Acting as first point of contact for the Council as the Council Proper Officer & RFO and implementing Council decisions

Liaising with the public, councillors, local government bodies, contractors as required

Managing the council’s website

Use of Email, Word, Excel and own computer/ laptop required

The post holder will mainly work from home with attendance at meetings and visits to the village to display relevant notices – agendas/ minutes as required

Salary is paid in accordance with the National Association of Local Councils NJC salary scales, according to relevant experience and qualifications
